SBM Offshore is conscious of the fact that the oil and gas industry has a high impact on society and the environment. The Company realises that it is essential to conduct its business in a sustainable way.
The Company's commitment to socially and environmentally responsible business is expressed in the Code of Conduct published by IHC Caland in May 2000. This document lays out the Company's view of its responsibilities to its stakeholders (customers, capital providers, employees and suppliers) and also to society and the environment. It forms the basis for the Company's daily performance of its business, and the Company is actively accountable for compliance with this code. An update of the code of conduct will be published by SBM Offshore in the second half of 2005.
