Benefits to Local Communities: Vietnam

  • Number of Vietnamese working for the SBM Offshore Group, and subcontractors:

  • The SBM Offshore Group uses the following local service companies: PVEP (VT & HCMC), PTSC HCMC, PTSC, OSC, PTSC Production, Vina Offshore, First Alliance, SOS, VIC, Apave (VT & HCMC).
  • Four hours per week of English language training is given to all onshore and offshore national employees. Monthly safety training is given by an external specialist.
  • SBM Offshore makes an annual donation of rice to the poor community of Vung Tau and also provides logistical support for its delivery. Sports competitions have been held offshore to raise money for charity (Smile Campaign). SBM Offshore makes an annual cash donation to the Vung Tau Peoples Party to assist relief of Delta flooding.
